Facelift Under Local Anesthesia — The Safelift
Local anesthesia only. No general anesthesia. All procedures performed in-office — you’re awake, comfortable, and drive-home ready.
A minimally invasive lower-face and jawline lift performed in-office under local tumescent anesthesia — no general anesthesia, no IV sedation.

What it is
The Safelift is a minimally invasive mini-facelift that tightens the lower face and jawline through small, well-hidden incisions. Because Dr. Malouf performs it under local tumescent anesthesia rather than general anesthesia, patients avoid the risks and prolonged recovery of a traditional facelift while still achieving a natural, lasting lift.
Ideal candidates
- You have early to moderate jowling or lower-face laxity
- You want to avoid general anesthesia
- You prefer a shorter recovery than a traditional facelift
- You want natural, not 'pulled,' results
The procedure
The procedure is performed in-office under local tumescent anesthesia. Through discreet incisions around the ear, Dr. Malouf tightens the underlying tissue and removes excess skin. The procedure typically takes 1–2 hours and you remain comfortable and awake.
Recovery
Most patients return to normal activities within 1–2 weeks. Bruising and swelling resolve over the first two weeks. Because no general anesthesia is used, recovery is generally faster and safer.

Frequently asked questions
Why no general anesthesia?+
Dr. Malouf pioneered minimally invasive cosmetic procedures using local tumescent anesthesia, which reduces risk and speeds recovery.
Will the results look natural?+
Yes — the Safelift is designed to restore your natural contours, not create a tight or pulled appearance.
What is a Safelift mini-facelift?+
A Safelift is a minimally invasive lower-face and jawline lift performed under local tumescent anesthesia. It tightens sagging jowls and jawline tissue through small incisions without general anesthesia, IV sedation, or hospital admission.
How is a Safelift different from a traditional facelift?+
A traditional facelift is performed under general anesthesia in a hospital or surgery center and requires 2–3 weeks of downtime. A Safelift is performed in-office under local anesthesia and most patients return to work in about a week.
Am I a candidate for a Safelift?+
Good candidates are patients in their 40s through 70s with visible jowls, jawline sagging, or early neck laxity who want a real surgical result without the risks and downtime of general anesthesia. Dr. Malouf evaluates every patient personally during consultation.
How long do Safelift results last?+
Most patients enjoy their results for 7–10 years. Aging continues naturally after any lift, but the improvements from the procedure remain visible long-term.
How much does a Safelift cost in Dallas-Fort Worth?+
Cost varies based on scope and whether it is combined with other procedures. Pricing is discussed during your consultation with Dr. Malouf.
What is recovery like?+
Most patients experience some swelling and mild bruising for 5–7 days. Sutures are removed at about one week. Most return to normal activities within 7–10 days.
What to expect
How the Safelift procedure works
1. Consultation
Dr. Malouf personally evaluates your anatomy, discusses your goals, and confirms whether the Safelift is the right procedure for you.
2. Day of procedure
You arrive at the Fort Worth office. Incision lines are marked. Tumescent anesthesia is infiltrated slowly and completely into all operative areas.
3. SMAS repositioning
Dr. Malouf raises the skin flap, addresses the SMAS with a short-scar technique, and repositions the lower face and jawline.
4. Closure
The flap is secured with permanent deep sutures. Skin is closed under no tension. Incisions are hidden at the tragus and along the hairline.
5. Go home the same day
No overnight admission. You leave the office in a soft dressing and go home with a driver.
6. Recovery
Sutures removed at about one week. Most patients return to social activity within 7–10 days.
